Search giant, Google, announced yesterday that it will be rolling out a new feature for Adwords over the next few weeks – Search Funnels.
Adwords Search Funnels, not to be confused with Analytics Search Funnels, will soon be available to you if you are using AdWords Conversion Tracking or importing your Google Analytics goals into AdWords.
Previously, AdWords only tracked the last ad that was clicked before a conversion occurred. With this new feature, Google will now track and report on the searches made for up to 30 days prior to the conversion. These “upper –funnel” keywords will show what the user was looking and clicking on prior to the ad conversion.
Search Funnels will be a highly useful feature because it will provide you with more data to truly gauge the effectiveness of your ads and keywords. It will assist you in showing whether generic keywords played a role in conversions from a branded keyword search.
Search Funnels will not only provide you with Top Conversions information but also include 7 additional reports, some of which include:
- Assisted Conversions
- First and Last Click Analysis
- Time Lag
- Path Length
Reports will become available on your AdWords account over the next few weeks and are still in beta version.
